Support to Agroecological Transformation Processses in India(SuATI)
The transition to sustainable agriculture is a pressing need for the future of farming in India. To address this, the German development agency GIZ is funding the crucial SuATI project ("Support to Agroecological Transformation processes in India").
At the grassroots level, Ajagar Social Circle is playing a key role in implementing this vision. In Assam's Goalpara district, they are creating vital sustainable livelihood options by facilitating "Farmers to farmers" knowledge exchange and establishing demonstration farms. This work empowers local communities, promotes agro-educational tourism, and directly supports the adoption of natural farming practices.
Beyond Assam, the SuATI project extends its collaborative model to Karnataka, partnering with local groups to strengthen ecological farming and value chains across the country, making a comprehensive impact on India's agricultural landscape.
Project Impact Statistics
“Before SuATI, we farmed the way our fathers did — unaware of the soil health we were losing. Now, I use compost from my own livestock, and my field feels alive again.”
